According to a recently published report from Dell’Oro Group, a surge in port shipments drove the Campus Switch market to double-digit revenue growth, despite a challenging pricing environment.
“Now that the Campus Switch market has returned to demand-driven dynamics, we’re seeing port prices erode towards pre-pandemic levels,” said Siân Morgan, research director at Dell’Oro Group. “Ubiquiti, Cisco and Arista each grew port shipments considerably and managed to maintain prices at a sufficient level to gain revenue share on a year-over-year basis.
“Part of the increase in market demand is down to Wi-Fi 7. All the enterprise class Wi-Fi 7 APs on the market connect at higher speeds than 1 Gbps,” added Morgan. “In 2Q 2025, there was a huge step up in the share of APs that need multi-gig ports. This is translating to renewals on the Campus Switch side.”
Additional highlights from the 2Q 2025 Campus Ethernet Switch Report:
- A large installed base of end-of-support Cisco switches presents a revenue opportunity for vendors
- Port prices declined for the sixth quarter in a row, despite a 35 percent increase in multi-gig port shipments
- Revenue expanded in all macro-regions, except China
- A flurry of acquisitions in the Enterprise IT space is creating a dynamic market, ripe for vendor share shifts.
