Spectrum is a pioneer in the design and manufacture of PC based test and measurement instrumentation that is used for electronic signal capture, generation and analysis. The company specializes in high-speed digitizer, high-resolution digitizer and arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) technology and has available over 400 modular products in the most popular industry standards: PCIe (PCI Express), LXI (Ethernet based), PXI, PCI, PCI-X and CompactPCI. Products are available with 8 bit, 12 bit, 14 bit and 16 bit analog resolution. Software can be used to allow the products to perform the functions of a wide variety of test instruments including: oscilloscopes, data loggers, multi-channel data acquisition systems, FFT spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, pattern generators, data streaming systems (FIFO) and transient recorders.

OEM and Automated Testing

Small and compact the products are ideal for automated testing applications where fast ADC and DAC technology needs to be embedded or rapidly deployed. For example, in OEM and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems being developed for the electronics, defense and science markets. Applications include RADAR, Sonar, Ultrasound, Spectroscopy, Lidar, wireless and mobile telecommunications, particle and high-energy physics, radio astronomy, lightning and high-voltage monitoring, electronic warfare, mechanical and vibration analysis, chemical analysis and life science, tomography, automotive, non-destructive testing (NDT), acoustics, semiconductor and component testing, Laser imaging and mapping, medical science and more.

Software forms the Virtual Instruments

All products come with a full software development kit (SDK) covering Windows and Linux operating systems, and support for C/C++, Delphi, Visual Basic, .NET, C#, Python, IVI, LabVIEW, MATLAB and LabWindows programming environments. Software, combined with the latest PC technology, allows faceless products to become virtual instrumentation. All Spectrum products have a 2 year factory warranty.
