Event Description

A Practical Guide to Signal Integrity: Basic Analyses and Concepts

October 25, 2018
10am PT / 1pm ET
Sponsored by Keysight Technologies
Presented by Chun-Ting "Tim" Wang-Lee, Signal and Power Integrity Applications Engineer, Keysight Technologies

Why this webcast is important:

This webinar will analyze a typical high-speed channel with several different approaches: mixed-mode S-parameters, eye diagram metrics, time domain reflectometry (TDR) and single pulse response. For an engineer new to designing serial links such as PCI Express, it is essential to recognize that the signal can contain spectral content to tens of gigahertz.

You will learn the mechanisms affecting signal integrity to give you practical tips for evaluating link designs and troubleshooting issues. A pre-layout case study example for PCIe will demonstrate the usage of IBIS-AMI models with equalization on both transmitter and receiver.

If you are new to signal integrity, this webinar will give you a head start on your signal integrity journey, including a complimentary ADS workspace for continuing your learning after the webinar. For experienced SI engineers, this presentation is an excellent refresher on the fundamental SI analyses and concepts.
