Clarity 3D Solver has been trusted by hundreds of design teams to address signal and power integrity challenges. By solving bigger problems on more efficient compute resources, Clarity 3D Solver users have re-imagined what can be done with 3D Finite Element Method (FEM) Solver technology. Trusting EM extraction results to 50 GHz and beyond requires correlation to lab measurement. In this case study, we will share experience and best practices for achieving measurement to simulation correlation based on the Wild River CMP 50 IEEE P370 compliant test fixture where lab measurements have been taken from DC to 50GHz. We will cover topics such as material property identification, correlation challenges, influence of connector models, and manufacturing tolerance/variation.
Kristoffer Skytte is Senior Principal Application Engineer at Cadence focusing on chip, package, board and full system analysis. He is helping companies in EMEA apply simulation tools to solve some of their toughest SI, PI and EMC related challenges in their design process.
He is the technical lead for Clarity in the EMEA region and has over 20 years of experience working with EM solvers and related software. Kristoffer holds a master of science degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark.
